Day 895
The sun is full of consciousness of light - but we are only aware of light when we are conscious of darkness.
Meditate on sattvic Deity and you become Brahman [the one, indivisible, universal consciousness] Itself.
In this ashram [monastery, religious hermitage, place of retreat] they find problems with others. But if they look closely, they will find they themselves are the problem. Let them remove it and they will find there is no problem.
You must not treat your Deity as a dead thing. You must always remember: The Deity is living.
You must find happiness in yourself.
The only person who has knowledge, is he who is God.
Without God's grace you can never meet a saintly person.
As you go near to God, you become calm, not emotional, because emotion is of the senses.
Swami Vivekananda [the lead disciple of Sri Ramakrishna] said, 'Do not praise another man's wife's beauty.' Today women fall for this. Ravana [the demon king in the Hindu epic: the Ramayana] tried this and failed.
It is very important to take spiritual life seriously.
