Day 880
In a parable Sri Ramakrishna says, 'When you are standing in front of a mirror but can't see your reflection, what do you do? There must dust on the mirror, so you clean it off. Then you will see your own reflection.'
Similarly if you cannot feel God's love in your heart it means we must make ourselves pure. How to make ourselves pure? First, we must respect our fathers and mothers. Secondly, we must respect our teachers, because God dwells in the teacher and He teaches us through these teachers.
The different languages – like dialects – are the different powers manifested by different people to express their thoughts. We say that God as Mother Saraswati [pictured] is the power, and all the different languages are different forms of Mother Saraswati.
'Language is a power, a particular power, of God,' says Sri Ramakrishna.
I want you to read about Sri Ramakrishna. The Ramakrishna Centre is here in Durban and you are always welcome. The teaching staff is welcome to come to the Centre to discuss anything.
Ramakrishna said, 'Do not find fault with God because everything that God does is right.'
Master [Sri Ramakrishna] puts it in a small story. He says, 'Once a learned man talked like this to God: He said, "You know, God, I am doing so many good things and still I am suffering. That can't be right." And he started looking for proof of this. One day he felt tired so he took off his turban and fell asleep under a mango tree. Shortly after this the wind got up and a mango fell from the tree onto his head. He woke up with a shock and started shouting, "Ow, this mango fell on me." Now as he was running about shouting he found a big pumpkin on a small creeper and said, "You see, now I can prove that God is wrong." A person nearby asked him, "Why do you think that God is wrong?" The man shouted, "You mean to say that it's right that such a small creeper has such a big fruit, and such a big tree has such a small fruit?" As he went on complaining the onlooker said, "Can you imagine what would be your position if the pumpkin hung from the trees?"
So you see, whatever God does, He always does right. Never find fault with God.
